Hi my name is Shawn Hutchins. I am the founder and director of the Zen Shura Kai Martial Arts Association. I am a 6th Dan in Zen Shura Kai certified by the American Karate Association, Professional United Martial Artists Society, the Diversified League of Martial Arts, and various other martial art organizations. I also hold a 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate. I have 19 yrs of experience and still have a lot to learn.
I wanted to create a martial art that did not pressure a student to participate in a tournament. When she or he is ready, I will train him/her and they will do the best of their ability. That is all I ask for. Zen Shura Kai is a martial art for the student who just wants to learn okinawan style karate and feel better about himself/herself.
